While doing a internet search for this article, I was amazed at the variety of microscopic Fungi that are Molds. Over 150 species of Molds to date, some good, some not so good, and down right dangerous! One of the most common but dangerous molds is
Black mold 
such as Stachbotrys atir, penecillium, cladosporuim and aspergillius are dangerous to our health and our homes.
This is an example of a electron microscope looking at a Black Mold spore called Stachybotrys Chartarun. These mold spores are found in our home, and in the businesses we work in and are found naturally in the outdoor enviroment. They can be found anywhere dark and moist as these conditions are what these one cell organism thrive in, as long as there is a food source. What type of food source are you thinking? Unfortuneately anything organic in nature, your dry wall, behind your wallpaper, on your interior wood studs. This menance can be found anywhere. Toxic Mold are what they are called and there are different varieties. These Molds produce what are called “mycotoxin” which can cause or aggravate several medical conditions. Such as something as simple of a cough, itchy eyes and irritated skin to more damaging conditions to your respiratory system such as Asthma, pneumonia or strider. We all remember the story of King Tut’s Tomb and it’s Curse. Archives and notes have shown that the tomb when opened was heavy with the smell and sight of pungent and thick mold. Because of the decade, little was know about toxic mold, the spores are inhaled with out any pain or symptoms at first, the architects and workers worked long hours in this great Tomb discovery, and many died However we now know that is was not a curse, but probably the toxcicity of the mycotoxins that all were breathing in day after day.
It has only been in the past decade that Toxic mold has become understood as a potential and deadly health risk to the immune compromised person or the very young or elderly. When mold is exposed to air, it immediately send spores, unable to be seen, into the atmosphere and we breath it in immediately. That is why, if you smell something “musty” in your bathroom, or beside your Ac unit, or under a sink. Please think twice before looking yourself. Opening up a wall with mold is like opening the porverbial “Can Of Worms”.
